Dr. Barbara Koltuska-Haskin is a Clinical Neuropsychologist in private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with over thirty years of clinical experience. She also has a background in research and academic teaching.
Apart from her doctorate in psychology and neuropsychology, she holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Education degree, graduating as valedictorian. She further completed 450 hours of academic coursework in psychopharmacology, sponsored by the Southwestern Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy and New Mexico State University Collaborative. She is also a classically trained mezzo-soprano.

Barbara Koltuska-Haskin is the author of the award-winning book How My Brain Works: A Guide to Understanding It Better and Keeping It Healthy, which has won seven awards. Her book was a finalist at the International Book Awards and the Independent Author Network’s Book of the Year Awards. It also received a Silver Medal at the Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards and a Distinguished Favorite Award at the New York City Big Book Awards. Additionally, it was a finalist at the New Mexico/Arizona Book Awards and won 1st place at the 2021 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards recently, How My Brain Works was selected as a finalist in the 2022 Eric Hoffer Awards in the Da Vinci Eye category for its cover design.
Dr. Koltuska-Haskin loves New Mexico for its sunshine, beautiful nature, and the hospitality of its people, often saying she feels "New Mexican in her heart." She enjoys walking New Mexico's trails, and the high desert climate nurtures her passion for organic gardening.

Barbara: For over 30 years of my clinical practice, my patients have been my toughest teachers and inspiration. I have always been fascinated with the brain, which is the most complex and miraculous part of our body. I wanted to use my knowledge and experience to help my patients better understand and improve and/or maintain their brain functioning. Much contemporary research proves that brain functioning can be improved at any age.
