Batman is set to make history, as the first superhero to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This milestone marks the 2,790th star to be added to the famous sidewalk, which has long celebrated both fictional characters and real-life figures. The ceremony is scheduled for September 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM PT, in front of the Guinness World Records Museum on Hollywood Boulevard.

Along with receiving the star, Batman will also earn a Guinness World Record for being the first superhero to be recognized in this manner.

Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Batman made his debut in Detective Comics #27 in March 1939. Over the past 85 years, he has become an enduring symbol of justice, bravery, and resilience, captivating fans worldwide through comics, TV shows, animated series, and major films.

"Fans across the globe will be excited to learn that Batman's star will be placed near those of television’s Batman, Adam West, and Batman co-creator Bob Kane," said Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez in a statement shared by The Independent.

This recognition is particularly significant, as Batman becomes only the 20th fictional character to receive a star on the Walk of Fame, joining an elite group that includes legendary characters such as Bugs Bunny, Godzilla, and Mickey Mouse. Batman's star not only highlights his lasting influence on popular culture but also paves the way for future superheroes to be similarly honored.

Throughout his long history, different actors have portrayed Batman, adding to his iconic status. From Lewis Wilson in 1943 to more recent portrayals by Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson, each version has deepened the character's complexity.
