Nina Dobrev Provides Health Update After e-Bike Accident Surgery.

On Wednesday, June 5, Nina Dobrev took to Instagram to update her followers on her recovery following surgery for injuries sustained in an e-bike accident. “Surgery went well... Thank you to everyone who has sent kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes. I’ve truly felt the support and it means more than you know,” wrote the 35-year-old actress.

The Vampire Diaries star also shared some behind-the-scenes moments as she prepared for surgery. In her Instagram Stories, she confessed, “Does anyone else get nervous before surgery? I’m such a baby when it comes to needles, blood, or any kind of procedures,” accompanied by a photo of her frowning and giving a thumbs down.

In another Story, Nina documented her leg before surgery, saying, “Had to get one last photo of my leg-pristine- before it’s all scarred up,” showing her leg in a hospital gown, socks, and hair net.

Nina also recounted a curious part of the pre-surgery process: marking the limbs to be operated on. She posted a clip where she drew an ‘x’ above her ankle with a ‘yes’ above it, captioned, “Fun fact: they make you draw on whatever extremity is being operated on to confirm that is the correct limb…(because I guess it’s happened in the past that some surgeons have accidentally operated on the wrong limb) Yikes!”

She initially revealed her e-bike accident on May 20 with an Instagram post showing before and after photos, captioned, “how it started vs how it’s going.”

Since the accident, Nina has shared several recovery snapshots. These include pictures of her wearing a face mask and a cast on her leg while resting in bed with her dogs, various appointment photos, and a video of her boyfriend, Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, cheering her up with a dance.

Despite the setback, Nina is set to appear in the upcoming Paramount film, Reunion, which premieres on June 28. She will be starring alongside Lil Rel Howery, Billy Magnussen, Jillian Bell, and Chace Crawford.
