Phoebe Gates, Daughter of Bill Gates, Confirms Relationship with Paul McCartney’s Grandson.

Phoebe Gates, daughter of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, has officially announced her relationship with Arthur Donald, grandson of Paul McCartney.

On June 26, Phoebe, 21, confirmed the long-rumored romance by sharing a picture of herself on Arthur's back, calling him her “boyfriend.”

“My boyfriend, Arthur, giving me a lift post-ceremony,” Phoebe captioned the photo.

These images were part of a photo diary for Nylon, where Phoebe chronicled her graduation from Stanford University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology in just three years.

In another picture showing the couple hugging, Phoebe wrote, “With Arthur, he cleans up nicely.”

The relationship confirmation comes after months of speculation. Rumors about their romance began in October 2023, when Phoebe posted a photo on Instagram of them smiling in front of the Eiffel Tower, captioned “Paris on film.”

Phoebe is the youngest child of Bill and Melinda French Gates, who divorced in 2021 after 27 years of marriage. Phoebe has an older sister, Jennifer, 28, and a brother, Rory, 25.

Given Phoebe's prominent family background, some might not be surprised by her connection with Arthur. She had spent time with Arthur’s aunt, Stella McCartney, before formally meeting her in London during an internship at British Vogue. Phoebe noted that she and Stella “instantly hit it off.”

In August 2023, Phoebe, then a college student, and her roommate Sophia Kianni collaborated with Stella McCartney on a capsule bag collection to honor the Women’s Tennis Association and the 50th anniversary of the US Open. This limited edition collection also promoted Phoebe’s upcoming digital fashion platform, Phia.

“I felt very connected to her because she’s used her platform, given who her dad is, to leverage something meaningful,” Phoebe said. “She chose to launch a brand that is completely sustainable, which I admire.”
