The 2024 Paris Olympics provided a perfect outing for Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. The couple, who are seldom seen together in public, were spotted in the stands at Bercy Arena in Paris on Sunday, August 4. They showed their support for Team USA by wearing Olympic-themed apparel.
Ryan, 43, sported a green baseball cap featuring the Olympic rings, paired with sunglasses and a red flannel shirt over a white tee while attending the women’s gymnastics uneven bars final. Eva, 50, complemented the look with sunglasses and a simple black shirt.
Though they kept a low profile, it appeared that the couple brought their two daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, along for the event.
The stars of The Place Beyond the Pines — who met on the set of their 2012 film — also attended the Grand Prix freestyle event at the Chateau de Versailles over the weekend. Ryan wore a white Olympic-themed cap, while Eva donned a floppy sun hat.
This public outing marks the first time the Gosling-Mendes family has been seen together in years. Despite their private nature, they have consistently shown support for one another through red carpet events, interviews, and social media. Eva frequently praises Ryan on Instagram, including her support for his roles in The Fall Guy and Barbie. Following his Best Actor nomination for his role as Ken at the 2024 Academy Awards, Eva expressed her pride and defended him against critics.
“Despite the negativity and ridicule he faced for his role, he created a unique, hilarious, and iconic character that made it to the Oscars,” Eva stated in an Instagram post.
Ryan, for his part, has credited Eva as his “best acting coach” during an interview with Extra at the Los Angeles premiere of The Fall Guy in May.
“She’s also like my acting coach,” the Notebook star said. “She has become the best acting coach I’ve ever had; her support is endless.”
